Position Summary:
The Professional Civil Engineer is responsible for leading and managing complex civil engineering projects from conception through completion. This role involves overseeing design, permitting, and construction phases, ensuring projects meet technical standards, budgetary goals, and client expectations. The Professional Civil Engineer will serve as a technical expert, mentor junior staff, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, contractors, and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and coordinate all phases of civil engineering projects, including planning, design, permitting, and construction administration.
- Develop and review design plans, specifications, reports, and cost estimates.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, as well as applicable codes and standards.
- Act as a primary point of contact for clients, maintaining strong relationships and delivering responsive communication.
- Provide technical leadership, guidance, and mentorship to engineering staff and project teams.
- Conduct site visits and inspections to monitor progress, quality, and adherence to design.
- Prepare and present project proposals, status updates, and technical reports.
- Manage budgets, schedules, and resources to ensure timely and cost-effective project delivery.
- Coordinate with surveyors, architects, planners, and contractors to resolve design and construction challenges.
- Identify risks and implement proactive solutions to maintain project success.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (Master’s preferred).
- Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) required.
- 7–10+ years of progressive experience in civil engineering project management.
- Strong technical background in site development, transportation, utilities, grading, drainage, and stormwater management.
- Proven experience managing multi-disciplinary teams and large-scale projects.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and client management skills.
- Proficiency in engineering software (AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation, or similar) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work in a fast-paced environment.

- Experience with public and private sector projects.
- Knowledge of sustainable design and green infrastructure practices.
- Familiarity with permitting processes in municipal and state jurisdictions.
